Well tend to have many excuses why we should or should not work on our dissertation. Let’s face it ,any excuse would do. There is no one watching, no one checking up, no accountability. When you are writing your dissertation, your are responsible for creating your own accountability. At the Dissertation House we follow strict schedules which include starting on time, going to lunch at 12 every day, setting next-day goals 15 minutes before the day ends and of course ending the day exactly at 5:00pm. We want students to build a habit of maintaining their integrity with their dissertation writing schedule. If you say you are working on your dissertation for 30 minutes then you have to work for 30 minutes, not 29 minutes and 30 seconds. If you don’t value your own time no one else will.
Your family and supporters are watching you, if you don’t honor your schedule they won’t either. You can’t ask them to sacrifice the time they would like to spend with you if they see you playing games on the internet or see you cleaning your home when you are supposed to be working on your dissertation.
Figure out how to work on your dissertation during the heat, the winter, the spring, and the fall.
