Most people think that January 1st is the time to set your New Year’s resolution to finish your dissertation. If you will be graduating in the spring, the reality is that you will have to finish your full draft by early April, 4 months after the start of the new year. If you start Nov 1st you have 6 months.
It’s not too late to make plans for graduation in May. The real question is how hard do you want to work. If you have been working steady and are ready to graduate you might need an attitude adjustment. If you are thinking about graduating in May, now is the time to begin your final push.

What about your references?
What about the formatting?
What about your school’s deadline’s and paperwork?
You can still stick with 15 minutes a day but let’s face it are you willing to sacrifice more time? Are you willing to cut your holiday season short or even give it up all together? How hard are you willing to work? Is this the year or will you have stretch it out again over yet another summer? Don’t wait until January to ask yourself these tough questions.
